Mercury in retrograde

What does this mean for you?

Bad omens are placed on this planet when it is in retrograde, but this is not always true. During this time, it is a chance to reflect. This planet governs all transportation and communication issues. It is a highly objective, truth seeking, and it rules intelligence, education, and truth. Usually, you feel the effects days to weeks before the retrograde.

What does retrograde mean? This is when a planet appears to stop and then temporarily reverses its regular movement through the sky. The planet then goes retrograde/backwards. After a certain period, each planet has a different length of time; then it appears to stop and reverse its movement through the sky again. Then it goes direct and returns to its normal cycle through the sky. Some things that can happen when in retrograde with this planet are missed appointments, computer problems, mail gets returned, things get lost in the mail, and things just get lost, problems with all transportation, communications are down - including verbal. This is not a time to sign contracts or start new projects, jobs, ideas, etc. You might run into someone from the past, usually to clear unresolved issues. The two astrological signs governed by this planet are Gemini and Virgo. If you think we have a tough time during retrograde, these two signs make it harder. This is a particularly suitable time to reflect inward and do clearing work. During this time, things slow down- by removing the old to make way for the new. As soon as the planet comes direct, things will speed up. Sit back and remove the old to make way for the new.

Mercury is retrograde for 24 days and stationary for approx. 3 days
