* Never blow out candles - always snuff them out.
* Use only wooden matches to light candles and incense.
* Always allow white candles to burn completely down.
* Protection candles or ones to remove negative energy should not be burned completely down.  Only until it reaches ½ inch left of the candle.  The candles with this purpose consume the negative energy.  When the candle is finished then throw it out so that no one would be able to touch it.  Make sure you always burn a white candle with any protection candles.

To promote balance and harmony in the home and your life you can burn a yin and yang candle.   Yin and yang candle is one is black and the other is white.   The purpose is to balance the energies.   Light them both together and allow them to burn.   Only allow the white candle to burn completely down.  The black candle is consuming the negative energy so only allow it to burn till it reaches a ½ inch.   Then you will want to throw the candles completely away.   Because the black is holding in the negative energy.  If your candles burned fast then you will want to repeat this with another set until you feel the energies have balanced.

Placing candles around the individual while healing can have a very powerful effect.  

The triangle
This is an amplifier.  Increasing the power of the healing force of whatever color candle is being used.  Making the color more cleansing.

The Square
It stabilizes the entire physiological system.  Calming, settles and grounds the forces the basic life force of the color being used.

The Cross
This will help balance the four elements in the individual so the color can work effectively.  It affects  the heart chakra.  Balances our physical energies with our emotional, mental and spiritual energies.  Also, stabilizes the electromagnetic of the body, providing assistance so that the color is more easily absorbed.

The Pentagram
It grounds and strengthens the color being used.  Awakens the individuals spiritual energies and calls upon the energies to assist with the healing process.

Absent healing with candles

Have either a picture or the name of the person that you are doing the distant healing for.  With a plain white taper candle, cleanse and dress it.  Visualize it as a symbol of the spiritual and physical essence of the one to whom you are doing to send healing energies to.

* Place the white candle on top of the absent symbol.
* Arrange the colored candles with the layout that you have chosen, placing the white candle in the middle.
* Light the candle and visualizing the energies of the individual it represents becoming more vibrant and full of life.  Then light the colored candles.  Visualizing the person being filled with the healing energies of the candle light.  This usually takes ten to fifteen minutes or you may wish to leave the candles burn until they burn out.
