What to look for in a professional healer, psychic, counselor etc.
I have had requests for this to be reprinted from my newsletter. So many people have communicated to me
about their experience with people they went to for help in all different fields of professionalism and did
not have good results and etc.
The following can be used in your search for "any" professional in all fields.
I have been asked this question from time to time from clients or people from all over that are looking for
a Professional Healer or even a Reiki Teacher or a Spiritual Counselor, Psychic-Medium (some questions apply
only for healers and of like) before you purchase their services. There are several things that you should
ask the person you are interested in receiving their service and also ask yourself.
I hope that my clients and future clients check these lists before they contact me.
- I WELCOME IT!
What kind of feelings are you getting from this person when you contact them via phone, hearing their
name, or seeing an advertisement, listing on the web or in an article?
Are you feeling uncertainty, uneasy, worried or just an unknown wrong or something is not right feeling?
Than this is a warning sign or your gut feeling to say no or stay away.
Think back to when you first meet someone and had this feeling but did not act upon it and then
something happened in that relationship or interactions with that person - remember - It happens to us all.
Just remember just because someone else recommended this person or they are well known or have big
advertisements do not mean they are for you. Trust your gut instinct and if you are not getting a positive
feeling move on to someone else. Also when in doubt move on/find someone else. You have the right to
pick and choose the one to help assist you.
Ask your Higher Self, your Spirit Guides, Angels or any form of divination that you use to receive your yes
(positive) and no (negative) answers. Remember your Higher Self, your Spirit Guides and Angels have your
best interest at heart. They are there to answer the questions and guidance you.
Some questions to ask them are:
Is this ______________(fill in the blank of healer or etc) for my highest good?
Will they assist / help me in _______________?
Is this person not for my highest good?
Will I receive the ____________________ that I am going for from them or any positive benefit? (Fill in the
blank of answers, learning, healing or etc)
If you are looking for references - remember would anyone give you a list of bad references? Usually when
you get one it is a friend of some type of the person that they know will give a positive feedback to you.
My client's information is confidential and what has helped someone might not help all.
Remember to go to a healer, teacher or medium you must be willing to be open to receive the benefit of
their service. Also, very important when going to a healer is that you must do your inner work. No one
can do that for your or should promise that they can.
If someone has referred you to see someone that they know or had work done by - ask what they did for
them? Also, do you see improvement or any change with this person for the positive.
A lot of psychics and others of all fields of work will refer you to people. These are usually within their
own networking group or friends, not always for your highest good or could help you.
If you receive a treatment, are they telling you that you must come back in a certain amount of time?
The magical miracle of healing is that you can be healed on one level or all levels in one treatment, two or
more sessions. You will be able to tell if you need another session within a week or more. Most of my
clients give me feed back that the energy stays with them between two weeks to a month. Also, that
they are still healing during this time. Which is great. I always allow them to be in charge and not force
them to reschedule at the end of the session. Sometimes the effects of the session are felt later in the
day or the next day. If your intent is to have a regular schedule energy tune-up, then yes
schedule if this is your intent.
How often should you go to a healer?
As I have mentioned above, the energy should be still with you for a time period. I recommend no more
than once a week.
For example: If you go to a healer and had a session and you still have the energy that was channeled to
you / and (all) your bodies/energy layers, you might (at rare occasions) be able to use more - at the most
twice that week depending on the situation, otherwise we can only use/handle so much energy so it will
filter out; the excess or not be channeled through the healer. Remember the healer is channeling energies
from the Universe-Divine, as Universe/Divine is in control of how much is being channeled and
the healer is not in control of this.
If you feel that you do not have the energy that was used during the healing session - where did it go?
We have free will to keep the energy as long as we can or we can refuse it (example: if the energy was use
to heal an emotion and you did not want to let go of the situation or issue attached to it and kept the
block, you refused the energy to assist in the healing) or do you feel any effect from the healing after the
first 3 days? This could be a sign this healer is not for you.
If you ask the Professional Healer if they are still dealing with issues / blocks or know that they are (major
blocks not mild or small issues) and if they say they can't heal yet of an emotion or situation or is still
trying - you must ask yourself how can they help you if they can not help themselves and cleared their own
issues?
Does the healer get tired after doing healing?
If so they still have blocks and / or are not taking care of their vessel properly to do the healing work.
More time is needed for the healer to heal themselves.
Is the Healer taking credit for the miracles or healing that have happened from a session?
Ethically, this healer should have learned during their healing class that they are just a vessel for this
energy to be channeled / a medium for the energy, the person that is receiving the session is the healer;
because they are allowing the healing to happen and the Universe/Divine is of course also the healer. The
credit lies with the recipient and Spirit - no one else.
Is the Healer promising miracle healing to happen?
It is not up to the healer to say this person will be healed and this will not or will. It is up to the person
receiving the session and Spirit itself. The energy will go to some level (mind/body/soul) what ever is
needed at that time. At least the session should allow you to be very relaxed and calm.
Is this person a clear vessel for healing or teaching Reiki?
Even Diane Stein writes in her book 'Essential Reiki' on page 85 about a clear channel. If the person drinks
alcohol, smokes or takes drugs this is not a clear vessel for channeling healing energy. If they are on a
professional/high level they should have healed these issues. Remember that the energy is being channeled
through this person and as they are protecting themselves from your energies how can you protect yourself
from theirs that is filtering through - otherwise the healing is not working if you block them. On some
level if its consciously or subconsciously you are receiving information about them; their issues, energy etc
(as they are of yours) because of your auras are so close together and you are receiving the energy that is
being sent through their physical vessel from their crown to their hands. You must ask yourself, is this
what you want?
There is a very old saying -Healer, heal thy self before you heal.
I hope that this has helped those that are looking for a healer or spiritual teacher / counselor or any
professional.
