Are your employees over stressed?

From manufacturers to hospitals to auto dealerships, teachers, companies across the US are using seated massage
services to make work literally less of a pain in the neck for employees. Seated massage provides hardworking
employees with a convenient method of alleviating the stress inherent in these competitive times.

Slouching at a desk for prolonged periods often results in lower back pain. Repetitive motion injuries such as carpal
tunnel syndrome, are common among office workers. A ten-to-twenty minute "stress buster" massage relieves tension in
the neck, back, and shoulder muscles, reducing irritability and increasing productivity.

What Exactly is Chair Massage?

Chair Massage is basic Swedish (relaxation) Massage techniques and Deep Tissue Massage performed while the client
based on the clients preference. The client is seated in a specially designed massage chair.  The client sits on the chair,
which leans slightly forward, placing their face/head on a rounded "face cradle" and their arms on a padded arm rest.
The chair allows the client to fully relax so the massage therapist can work on the back, neck and shoulders, as well as
arms and hands during the massage session.

Will I Need To Remove Any Clothing for a Chair Massage?

There is no need to remove any clothing, except possibly jackets or very bulky sweaters.  Typically no lotion or oil is
used during the massage session, so there is no "clean up" or sticky feel afterwards.  Sometimes a little lotion will be
used on the forearms and hands to assist with the massage strokes.

How Long Does a Chair Massage Last?

A typical chair massage lasts 15 - 20 minutes or longer depending upon the person and place.  Surprisingly, even though
the time frame isn't very long, remarkable results can be obtained during the massage.  Clients with tightness in their
neck and shoulders, headache, and backache are often relieved of this discomfort after a chair massage session.  They
report feeling refreshed and relaxed, ready to get back to work.

Benefits from The Chair Massage

Studies by the Touch Research Institute show that the benefits of seated massage have quick results. Immediately after
massage sessions, the subjects experienced a change in brain waves in the direction of heightened alertness, and show
better performance on math problems (completed in less time with fewer errors).  At the end of the five-week study
period, subjects reported reduced job stress and elevated moods. These are in addition to the usual benefits of massage:
relief of muscular tension, revitalized energy, and a stronger immune system.

Where Do You Perform The Chair Massages?

Anywhere!  We require a minimal amount of space-basically enough room for a chair  - 5‘ X 5‘ space to move around.  I
often work in break rooms, conference rooms, book rooms, office areas.  Also,  set up wherever an employer wants us to-
out of the main flow of traffic and easy for employees to find.  We often bring a CD player with relaxing music, so an
area with electric outlets is helpful, but not necessary.

How Often Can Chair Massages Be Scheduled?

As often as an employer would like to offer the service.  I am flexible, and require within a weeks notice to schedule a
visit to any workplace.  Sometimes, if a group is small, we can schedule within a few days of being contacted.   Some
groups schedule quarterly, others schedule for "special occasions"---treating their employees after a particular project is
completed or as a holiday "gift".  Any arrangement is workable-just ask and give me your ideas!
