What do I do with them now that I bought them?
This is a very common question or possibly something you should know. You have gone and purchased a
crystal/stone or someone bought one for you now what do you do with them?
The first thing is to clean and clear the energy of the stone. All stones will collect energy and mostly
accumulate negativity easy and needs to be cleared.
Before you start using your stone here are a few tips of clearing the energy.
- Smudging your crystal with white sage. Burning sage and passing the crystal through the smoke.
- Placing your crystal outside during a full moon on the earth for one night. This allows the negativity to be
released to the earth as the full moon releases negative energy. You can then keep the crystals out during
the day to allow the sun to charge them.
- Placing your crystal in a mixture of sea salt or holy water. Make sure you check to see if the crystal is able
to get wet. Some are not meant to be in salty water or water in general.
- For sea salt; use purified water and about 1/4 -1/2 cup of sea salt in a small bowl and allow to sit for a
few hours or overnight.
- Then rinse in purified water. If you use holy water just pour the water over it and it will clear the energy.
- If you are a Reiki II practitioner, you can use the Sei He Key symbol to clear the energy.
- Place your crystal on a large crystal cluster for 24 hours to charge the energies.
- Soaking your crystal in flower water with the petals of the flowers such as rose, honeysuckle, orange
blossoms for 24 hours will cleanse the crystal of all it's negative energy.
- After you have cleanse the crystal you will want to dedicate it or program it. This is to keep the positive
energy and to program it for what you will use it for.
In your left hand place the crystal. Visualize white light surrounding it and place your right hand on top of it
and say “I bless this crystal with love and light. May it be used for the purpose of ___________(healing,
development or meditation, etc). Never may this crystal be used for ill intent, harm or any form of negative
purposes”
Now your crystal is ready to use.
If you are using it for meditation you may want to keep it in your left hand to receive the energy of the crystal
while meditating or place it over your third eye or under your pillow.
If it is used for healing or development you can place the crystal on the area to be healed or on the chakra that
is associated with the crystal. You can carry this crystal with you in your pocket, carry it in a small pouch, and
hold it in your hand.
Make sure that if you are using this crystal for healing purposes that each time you use it for healing, cleanse
the crystal afterward to remove the negative energy.
A crystal will usually need clearing at least once a month if not in use or if used a lot clean it weekly. You can
also perform test to see if it needs clearing with a pendulum.
Some crystals should NOT be washed/cleansed in salt water/sun for it changes their physical properties
(not their metaphysical properties), they are listed below.
Calcite, Carnelian, Labradorite (Spectrolite), Lepidolite, Moldivate, Opal, Sellenite and Turquios.
*Use caution only with the softer Mica and crystaline stones
May fade in Sunlight: Amethyst, Celestite, Opal and Turquoise.
